A UK health tech startup born from lived experience is launching the country's first proactive wellbeing platform - built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the support that helps them thrive, not just survive.
It began, as many of the best ideas do, with a conversation nobody else was willing to have. In 2023, Lewis sat down behind a microphone after reaching a point where he no longer wanted to be here. Rather than staying in that darkness, he made a decision - to turn his pain into purpose and help others the way he once needed someone to help him. The result was The Everyman Podcast - sixty episodes of unfiltered conversations with Premier League footballers, clinical psychologists and everyday people navigating the gap between how they appeared and how they actually felt.
What Lewis kept hearing, episode after episode, was the same truth: physical health, mental health and social connection aren't three separate problems. They're one challenge with three faces. And the systems designed to help - the NHS, employee assistance programmes, corporate wellness perks - were only reaching people once things had already fallen apart.
VYVE was born from a simple but powerful belief: that people who are struggling deserve better. That support should find people before they reach crisis point. That wellbeing isn't a luxury - it's a right. And that no one should have to struggle alone.
Today, that belief becomes a reality. VYVE Health is officially live - a UK health tech startup on a mission to make proactive wellbeing accessible to every individual and every workplace in Britain. The platform launches during Stress Awareness Month and in the same week that new Statutory Sick Pay regulations increase the cost of every employee absence for British businesses.
Social impact is built into how VYVE works. This isn't wellbeing for the privileged few - it's wellbeing designed to reach the people who need it most.
Through its Give Back initiative, VYVE donates one free month of access for every thirty member activities completed on the platform - tying individual progress directly to collective impact. Every step you take on VYVE helps someone else take theirs.
Where most workplace wellbeing platforms focus narrowly on mental health, VYVE takes a whole-person approach - addressing the three interconnected pillars that research consistently shows are the foundations of a healthy life. Through a single subscription, VYVE combines expert-led programmes, community support, personalised wellbeing scoring and real-time workforce intelligence for employers.
Expert-led movement, nutrition, sleep optimisation and recovery - real programmes designed to meet you wherever you are on your journey.
Resilience training, mindfulness, breathwork and stress management - tools to build mental fitness as part of daily life, not just in moments of crisis.
Community challenges, peer accountability and genuine belonging - because nobody should have to face their health journey alone.
The timing is not accidental. From 6 April 2026, Statutory Sick Pay is payable from the first day of absence, the Lower Earnings Limit has been abolished and the new Fair Work Agency has enforcement powers including penalties of up to 200% of underpaid sums. For British employers, every day of employee absence now costs more, applies to more workers and carries greater regulatory risk.
But behind every statistic is a person. A parent pushing through burnout. A colleague silently struggling. Someone who just needs to know that help exists - and that it's there before they reach breaking point.
These numbers tell a story of a system that's failing the people it's supposed to protect. The average employee assistance programme reaches just five per cent of the workforce. Mental health first-aid training has become a tick-box exercise. Wellness apps are abandoned within weeks. People deserve more than that.
The technology behind VYVE is built for scale - but more importantly, it's built for people. The platform combines AI-driven wellbeing scoring, live expert-led sessions, community-powered accountability and employer intelligence into a single experience that can be deployed across an entire organisation in days - with anonymised workforce dashboards, measurable ROI tracking and clinical governance as standard.
But technology is only as good as the change it creates. VYVE's mission isn't just to build software - it's to build a world where proactive wellbeing is the norm, where people feel supported before they reach crisis and where no one is left behind.
The leadership team brings together expertise from across health, technology and commercial strategy - united by a shared conviction that wellbeing should be built, not just treated.
Calum Denham, VYVE's Health Lead, has built the platform's physical wellbeing programmes from the ground up - live sessions, movement challenges and personalised fitness protocols designed to meet people wherever they are.
Phil Hurwood leads VYVE's mental health provision, overseeing resilience, mindfulness and clinical stress management programmes. His work is central to VYVE's belief that mental fitness should be something people build every day - not something they only access at breaking point.
Alan Bird, VYVE's Chief Commercial Officer, sees the regulatory and economic convergence as creating a moment of real opportunity - not just for businesses, but for the people inside them.
The VYVE Podcast, formerly The Everyman Podcast, continues as a core part of the platform with more than sixty episodes and a growing roster of guests bringing real stories and expert insight to the national conversation about health.
VYVE Health is available from 7 April 2026. Whether you're an individual looking for support or an employer ready to invest in your people - this is where it starts.
